Students, faculty, and staff can update their personal information in General Self-Service. This includes various emails, phones, addresses, and emergency contacts. Updating this information will automatically feed into downstream systems like Banner, password reset, Saints Alert, and the College Directory.

Add or Update Security E-Mail Address
The Security E-Mail Address is used when you need assistance with your CSS password, as it provides a secondary point of contact that is not your CSS email address.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.

- From the Personal Information page, go to the Email section.
- Check if you have a "Security E-Mail Address - CANNOT USE YOUR css.edu email" entry.
- If you do not have one, click +Add New in the section's right corner.

- This will open a pop-up box.
- Under Email Type select "Security E-Mail Address - CANNOT USE YOUR css.edu email" from the dropdown.
- Enter your non-CSS email address.
- Click Add at the bottom.

- If you already have an entry, click the pencil icon below it to edit.

- This will open a pop-up box with the current information.
- Update your non-CSS email address and click Update.

Add or Update Mailing Phone Number
This is your primary phone number. It's also used as a security phone number and for Saints Alerts.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.
- From the Personal Information page, go to the Phone Number section.
- Locate the "Mailing (Primary)" entry.
- If you do not have one, click +Add New, select Mailing as Phone Type, and follow similar steps below.
- Click the pencil icon below it to edit.

- This will open a pop-up box with the current information.
- Update your area code and phone number in their appropriate boxes.
- Ensure the Primary box is checked.
- Click Update at the bottom.

Add or Update Mailing Address
This is your primary address used for mailing and outreach from the College.
Please Note: You can only have one Mailing Address active at a time. If you've recently moved, you may need to edit your previous address, add a Valid Until date, and update before adding a new entry.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.
- From the Personal Information page, go to the Address section.
- Locate the "Mailing" entry.
- If you do not have one, click +Add New, select Mailing for Type of Address, and follow similar steps below.
- Click the pencil icon below it to edit.

- This will open a pop-up box with the current information.
- Verify the Valid From and Until dates.
- If you need to end date an address to add a new one, enter a Valid Until date of today or in the past.
- If you know you're moving in the future, you can add a future date in Valid Until that will automatically inactivate the address when hit.

- Make edits to the address information as needed. Please Note: Some information may auto-populate as you begin to fill data.
- Click Update when complete.

Add or Update Emergency Contacts
Emergency Contacts can be entered and referenced by the College in cases of emergency when a family member, guardian, or friend needs to be contacted on your behalf.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.
- From the Personal Information page, go to the Emergency Contact section.
- If you do not have any entries, click +Add New and follow similar steps below.
- Click the pencil icon below the contact to edit.

- Verify the order you'd like them to appear and be contacted in.
- Verify the contact's name.
- Verify the relationship selected (Ex: Father, Aunt, Child, etc.).

- Verify the phone number, email, and address. Please Note: Some information may auto-populate as you begin to fill data.
- Click Update when complete.

Add or Update CSS Office Telephone
Please Note: This type of phone number should only be used by College faculty and staff to indicate your campus/Zoom phone number.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.
- From the Personal Information page, go to the Phone Number section.
- If you do not have a "CSS Office Telephone (Primary)" entry, click +Add New, select CSS Office Telephone as the Phone Type, and follow similar steps below.
- Click the pencil icon below the contact to edit.

- This will open a pop-up box with the current information.
- Update your area code and phone number in their appropriate boxes.
- Ensure the Primary box is checked.
- Click Update at the bottom.

Add or Update CSS Office Address
Please Note: This type of address should only be used by College faculty and staff to indicate your campus office location. If you're a remote employee, you can specify so for the purpose of the College Directory.
- Go to General Self-Service.
- From the My Profile page, click on the Personal Information tile.
- From the Personal Information page, go to the Address section.
- Locate the "CSS Office Address" entry.
- If you do not have one, click +Add New, select CSS Office Address for Type of Address, and follow similar steps below.
- Click the pencil icon below it to edit.

- This will open a pop-up box with the current information.
- Verify the Valid From and Until dates.
- If you need to end date an address to add a new one, enter a Valid Until date of today or in the past.
- If you know you're moving in the future, you can add a future date in Valid Until that will automatically inactivate the address when hit.
- Make edits to the address information as needed.
- Ensure your office building and room is in Address Line 1 (ex: T1627).
- Please Note: If you're a remote employee, you can enter REMOTE here if desired.
- City, State, and Zip are required fields, so please enter Duluth, Minnesota 55811.
- Click Update when complete.
