Hiring Procedures for Staff Positions

The College uses a competitive hiring process for the selection of staff. Hiring processes are designed to assure that the College provides equal employment opportunity to all qualified applicants.
Open positions at the College are announced on Brightspace and posted on the College job site. Positions are posted as open to current employees only (internal) or open to all qualified applicants. Internal applicants are current faculty, adjunct faculty, full-time staff, part-time staff, and specific term, temporary and seasonal employees. Student workers, casual employees, temporary agency staff and independent contractors are not considered internal applicants. Both new and internal applicants must apply online at the College job site. Internal applicants will receive the same consideration as any other applicants.
Employees are encouraged to remain in a position for at least a year before applying for other jobs within the College. If selected for an interview, current employees are encouraged to notify their supervisor of their application. If selected for the position, it is expected that the employee, the employee's current supervisor and the hiring supervisor will collaborate on developing a satisfactory transition plan to the new position.
