In the interest of the health and welfare of its students, it is the policy of The College of St. Scholastica to require that undergraduate, international, and graduate health science campus students be covered by medical health insurance by the College, or privately. For more information about your St. Scholastica student health insurance plan offered through UnitedHealthcare Student Resources visit First Student.
All domestic undergraduate students taking 9 or more credit hours at the Duluth main campus must have health insurance.
International students regardless of credit hours are enrolled in the Student Health Insurance plan.
Additionally, all domestic graduate students taking 6 or more credit hours who are enrolled in the following programs must provide proof of health insurance or opt in to the College's Student Health Insurance plan:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Athletic Training
- Exercise Physiology
- Physician Assistant
This policy does not apply to extended studies students, to graduate programs not identified in this policy, or to online students. Students who are required by the College to have health insurance who take no action, will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance program. Students enrolling for the first time in the Spring or Summer Semester are required to follow this policy during the first month of enrollment and then again during the beginning of each academic year.
