Room Configuration Guide

Room Modes

Combined Mode:

  • A-side (Master Side) Touch Panel takes control of the entire room.
  • B-side Touch Panel is locked out and can be disconnected and stored.

Split Mode

  • A-side and B-side operate independently.
  • To return to Combined Mode, shut down the B-side from its own touch panel and restart.

Device Connections

Presentation (Audio/Video)

  • The HDMI Cable (black) on the podium is used to connect a laptop.
  • In Combined Mode, after connecting a laptop:
    1. Press Welcome Graphic tab.
    2. Press Podium Laptop tab — this allows B-side to recognize the connection.

Video Conferencing

  • USB Cable (blue) connects a laptop to the room’s AV system.
  • Utilizes:
    • Ceiling Microphones for room-wide capture.
    • Two Cameras:
      • Rear Corner: Presenter
      • Front Corner: Audience
    • Camera/Mic Controls available on the touch panel under Camera Control and Mic Control tabs.

Device Settings for Conferencing

  • Camera: CSS-NV-32-H-Podium-A
  • Microphone/Speaker: Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (CSS-NV-32-H-Podium-A)

Audio Controls

Outgoing Audio (Video Conference)

  • Privacy Mute button (top of panel):
    • Mutes microphones for the far-end only.
    • Does not mute in-room audio.
  • In-Room Audio
    • Source Volume Slider (on home page):
      • Controls incoming audio from a laptop.
      • Does not affect microphone levels.
  • Microphone Volume:
    • Use the Mic Control tab to adjust.
    • For high mic volume, do not use Source Volume slider.

Microphones

  • Handheld & Lapel Mics work in both Combined and Split modes.
  • Ensure mics are in correctly labeled locations.
  • In Split Mode, B-side mic controls will disappear from the A-side panel.

Assisted Listening Devices

  • Located in podium doors.
  • Use the power cable from the podium to charge.

Miscellaneous

Connecting B-Side Podium

  1. Plug podium cables into matching wall ports.
  2. Wait up to 2 minutes for equipment to boot.

Extra Cable Length

  • Power cable can be disconnected to move the podium further.
  • AV system will still function.

Note: Power cable is primarily for charging wireless microphones.


Configuration Explained


Getting Set-Up

Combined Mode

The A-side (master side) touch panel will take control of the divisible room. The B-side touch panel/podium will be locked out and can be disconnected and stored if desired.

Split Mode

The A-side (master side) and B-Side will act independently. B-Side must be shut down from the B-side touch panel to restart the room in combined mode.

Connecting a device

The black cable on the podium is an HDMI cable used for presenting audio or video in the room. When connecting a laptop in combined mode, please press the welcome graphic tab and then podium laptop tab to get B-side to recognize the new connection. 

Video Conferencing

Connecting a Device

The blue cable is a USB cable used to connect to the video conferencing system in the room. This entails ceiling microphones which capture audio across the entire room. 2 cameras, one for the presenter located in the rear corner and one for the audience located in the front corner. There are 2 Cameras in each room, if used in a divided layout both rooms can run their own meetings with their own cameras/AV. These can be controlled via the touch panel under camera control and mic control. When connecting to the room's video conferencing system please change your camera option to CSS-NV-32-H-Podium-A and Echo Cancelling Speakerphone(CSS-NV-32-H-Podium-A) for microphone and speaker options.

Outgoing Audio

The privacy Mute button located on the top of the panel is used to mute the microphones sending audio for video conferencing, this button does not mute the microphones played throughout the room. To mute the microphones playing audio within the space please refer to the mic control tab located on the top of the panel.

In-Room Audio

The source volume slider located on the home page will control any incoming audio from the laptop plugged in. This does not control volume for the far end user. If the microphones are too loud please refer to the mic control page, NOT source volume.

Microphones

The handheld and lapel microphones can be used in combined or split mode(Please ensure microphones are in correct locations with the labels). They will work simultaneously when combined and separately when split. You will find the B-side mic controls will disappear from the A-side panel when in split mode.

Assisted Listening

There are assisted listening devices located in the podium doors. The power cable coming from the podium charges these devices.

Additional Information

Connecting B-side podium

Find end of cables coming out of podium and plug ends into corresponding plugs on wall and wait for equipment to boot. This may take up to 2 minutes. Please be patient.

Extra Cable Length

If extra length is needed to move the podium, the power cable may be disconnected to gain the extra length and the system will still work properly. The power cable is to charge the wireless microphones.
