Computer Recommendations
We highly recommend the use of a computer or laptop that meets the standards below. Most late-model computers (three years old or newer) have adequate processing capabilities for their course work at the College of St. Scholastica.
There is a possibility that other systems may perform adequately, but they are not supported by our technology support personnel. Tablets and mobile devices may lack some essential functionalities.
The College does not recommend ChromeBooks.
Minimum Recommended Requirements

- PC: Latest supported Windows OS with latest security updates
- Mac: Latest supported Mac OS with most current updates
Program Specific Considerations
Some course work, depending on major, may be more easily completed on a Windows PC versus a MacBook. Please check with your advisor or department of study for requirements specific to your major or program.
- If you need Windows on your Mac, you will need to look at a software solution such as VirtualBox or Parallels.
