The anniversary date is the first day of employment into a full or part-time position. The anniversary date is used to conduct performance appraisals, to determine the date of eligibility to accrue vacation and sick leave, and to begin participation in the retirement plan, if eligible. Years of service awards are based on an employee's anniversary date.
In the case of a promotion or transfer to another position, the performance appraisal date shall be based on the promotion/transfer date and is called the adjusted hire date.
